We are sharing this invitation on behalf of Trails Wellington to connect trailmakers at a first face-to-face hui. This is a free event, and we welcome all trailmakers to attend.

You’re invited to a full-day workshop focused on the future of mountain bike trails in New Zealand.
Morning: Tourism investment for trail destinations with MBIE and industry experts
Topics include:
- Funding strategies for trail development
- Opportunities from the International Visitor Levy
- How MTB can influence tourism policy changes
Presenters include Janet Purdey from NZ Cycle Trails, and a NZ Tourism Investment Manager.
Afternoon: Mountain biking access on public land with DOC leaders.
Topics include:
- Reviewing bike classification under the Conservation Act
- DOC’s new approach to biking access
- Advocacy strategies for the MTB community
Presenters include Angus Hulme-Moir from DOC.
